Quick & Easy Baked Stuffed Pears in Puff Pastry
Puff pastry (sfoliata, σφολιάτα, say: sfohl-YAH-tah) isn't any easier to make by hand in Greece than it is anywhere else, so frozen puff pastry is sold just about everywhere - and inspires countless delicious creations.
Not counting the time it takes frozen puff pastry to defrost, this fabulous Baked Stuffed Pear Dessert takes five minutes to prep and 15-20 minutes to bake.
Pear halves are stuffed with a sweet raisin filling, then baked in a nest of puff pastry. Perfect as a dessert, snack, or accompaniment to coffee or tea - and they're great with ice cream. The basic recipe serves two, so think about this one as a sweet ending to a romantic meal, or multiply it and impress a houseful of guests.
I chose green Anjou pears to make this dessert as shown in the photo because they seem to be readily available in the market for a good part of the year; however, the recipe can be made with any pear variety.
