Before You Die, Eat Greek Food
A while back, BBC Food ran a poll asking people to list the 50 foods people should try at least once. The results were published in "50 things to eat before you die," a collection of some of the tastiest foods and dishes from all corners of the planet. As every fan of Greek food will understand, we made the list!
If you're looking for the most well-known and popular Greek foods, here is the list (with recipes and information) of foods and dishes that were mentioned in the BBC article:
- Moussaka (shown in photo, a ground meat and vegetable casserole topped with a thick cream sauce)
- Kleftiko (lamb cooked to falling-off-the-bone tenderness in parchment paper)
- Hummus (a dip made from chickpeas and tahini)
- Taramosalata (a fish roe dip)
- Dolmathes (stuffed grape leaves)
- Greek Salad
- Feta Cheese
- Greek Olive Oil
